Claire Holloway (Gabrielle Anwar), a raring-to-go young authoress of children’s books begins to experience inner turmoil in her personal life. Dark apparitions featuring a ten-year-old girl in distress plague her psyche repeatedly. Her peace shattered, she seeks the advice of a paranormal medic Hunt (Forest Whitaker), who prescribes a vacation from work. She spends the holiday at Rose Marsh Farmhouse in a remote village, which is full of spookier moments. The scary house seems to remind Claire of the dwelling she saw always in her visions with the haunting presence of a little girl. A never-ending series of nightmarish visions grip the authoress. Together Noah Pitney (Justin Louis), a petty newsprint publisher and Doctor Hunt pool in their energies to untangle the creepy scheme of things in the countryside.
