Lady Sybil Wren (Kay Kendall) is no lady when she spills the celebrity dirt on the behind-the-scenes troubles of a notable dance troupe. Her main enemy is Angele Ducros (Taina Elg) who has taken to the courts to charge libel. The man in the middle is dance impresario Barry Nichols (Gene Kelly) who knows the truth about his series of indiscretions. Nichols has a habit of falling for the girls in his chorus line, and Angele is no exception. However, Angele is trying to be respectable with her new husband Pierre Ducros (Jacques Bergerac) to keep her reputation from being tainted. However, a trial in Paris may hardly work in her favor.
