Alex (William H. Macy) is a sad fellow who has to see a psychiatrist, Josh Parks (John Ritter). Alex is married and a father. But he lets it slip that he is actually a hit man. Flashbacks reveal how he got started as a killer for hire, because it is his family’s business and his dad wanted him to do it. He also reveals that he desires Sarah (Neve Campbell), a young lady who has been in the doctor’s waiting room. She does not want to deal with him because of his marital status. Alex’s dad wants him to kill off the psychiatrist next. Alex does not want to give up on Sarah and does not know what he should do about his dissatisfaction with his life and his other problems.
