When Dr. Annie Watson (Haylie Duff) is pregnant, she chooses to stay with Dr. Belinda Owens (Sarah Jones), her best friend, as her husband, Peter, is away and engaged in his work. Annie’s mother-in-law, Mary (Patty Duke), is a follower of homeopathic system and folk medicines. Belinda’s scientific temperament does not allow her to accept such ideas. Belinda has to manage her household chores and adjust herself with Mary. In the meantime, her adopted daughter, Lillian (Courtney Halverson) finds a new lover. But, Belinda’s married life with Lee (Jordan Bridges) slowly gets strained, as she is unable to bear his child. When Anne gives birth to a baby girl and Belinda’s belief that the solution for her own problem would come up from some improbable source also turns out to be true.
