‘Griffin & Phoenix’ is quite a slow but moving story about the life of Griffin (Dermot Mulroney). Griffin is divorced and living alone in an apartment in New York City while his ex-wife and his children live in the family home in upstate New York. Griffin goes to his doctor and gets some horrible news. He finds out that he has an aggressive cancer and has less than a year to live. Desperate to make some sense of his diagnosis and his limited future he takes a class all about death and dying at his local college. While at the college he meets a professor called Phoenix (Amanda Peet) and the two feel a tremendous connection. Griffin doesn’t want to share his diagnosis with Phoenix and the story follows these two as their relationship deepens and their lives become more entwined.
