Jennie Lee (Justine Bateman) is the brains behind a mostly female rock band that has a big challenge to play at a beach resort. Most of the problems, beyond music, are troubles caused by band members like Billy (Britta Phillips) who’s a drug addict, or Daryle (Julie Roberts) who sleeps around too much, or a kleptomaniac drummer like Mooch (Trini Alvarado). The sole male in the group is a former classical musician named Nickie (Scott Coffey). Fortunately, the club owner is Martin Falcon (Liam Neeson), a once famous songwriter who has fallen on hard times, but who falls in love with Jennie. His adult friend Tina (Debbie Harry) may be jealous.
