Teenagers encouraged into acts of terrorism in Ireland in 1975 find the ramifications terrorism last a lifetime. Alistair Little (Mark Davison) is seventeen when he kills a Catholic boy in front of his younger brother Joe Griffin (Kevin O’Neil). The young man suffers a trauma of shock. Young Alistair, encouraged by adults to have his first kill, goes to prison. Joe suffers guilt from his parents who think he did not do enough to save his brother. In 2008, still in Ulster, adult Alistair (Liam Neeson) agrees to appear on a television show with Joe to show reconciliation among Irish adults. Alistair is eager to put the matter to bed, but adult Joe (James Nesbitt) grapples with deep feelings of revenge and considers another killing to assuage his family’s honor.
