In a society in which life and feelings are dictated by religious perception, Sonia (Renee Zellweger), an orthodox Jew’s wife from Brooklyn, is trying to oppose the Dogma which affects her. After she gives birth to a baby boy, her life is uneventful with Mendel (Glenn Fitzgerald), a man who respects biblical commandments above anything else. Sexually frustrated and sick and tired of her nonsense existence, the new mother falls in the arms of her brother-in-law, Sender (Christopher Eccleston), seeking independence and happiness. Despite of Mendel’s resistance, Sonia agrees to handle Sender’s jewelery business. It proves that she is a very good business woman, but she makes the mistake to give too much attention to a Hispanic artist and so, she succeeds in annoying everybody.
