The story circles around Norma (Diaz) and Arthur Lewis (Marsden). They live in a suburban area with their young child. One day, they receive a simple wooden box as a gift, which changes the entire course of their life. A mysterious stranger (Langella) comes up with a message that the one who possess the box would be given one million dollars by pressing a button. The couple find it hard to believe the stranger when he tells them that when the button is pressed, another human will die somewhere on this earth, but the person who will die will be unknown to the couple. Now, the couple enter a testing period where they get caught up in a moral dilemma and for the first time in their life they're made decide between two options-being selfish or being humane. |
