Life in the Hamptons can be rough sailing, and the captain of a yacht for one of the idle rich is Tim Whalen (Rob Lowe). Among his job duties is to sleep with the wife of his boss, Brooke Morrison (Kim Cattrall). Having higher aspirations, one of Tim’s pastimes is to find a rich girl he can woo, and Olivia Lawrence (Meg Tilly) is just what he wants. She is a millionaire alienated from her stepfather Tony Gateworth (John Glover) and ripe for the picking. What may complicate the attempt at romance is Olivia’s unrequited love who happens to be with the police, Mike McGill (Doug Savant). Another complication may be Tim’s desire to do her in.
