Belle (Vivien Cardone) is a young girl of 12 years who has lost her mother in a vehicle accident. Her father Cody (Jason London) is desperate due to the death of his wife but tries to bring up his daughter. However, Belle, somehow believes that her father is partially accountable for her mother's death. Hock (Peter Coyote), Belle's maternal grandfather, has undergone a great change since the death of his daughter and he has some difficulty in speaking to Belle after the accident because she brings him back the memories of her mother. At last, Atticus, the newly bought puppy, changes the lives of Belle and her relatives.
