A photo journalist (Nina Hoss) survives the Soviet invasion of Berlin, but barely. She is sexually assaulted by some members of the Red Army. In attempt for help she seeks out a Soviet officer (Yevgeni Sidikhin). Ironically she falls in love with him and they pursue a relationship that is totally forbidden under the Soviet way of thinking. As she writes down things in her diary she always runs the chance of being discovered and facing the severe consequences as well as ruining her lover’s career with the Red Army. Will they be discovered or will love finally win out and? |
