Vitus (Teo Gheorghiu) is a 12-year-old piano prodigy who also has an IQ of over 180. While he is a genius, his personality is ill-fitted for the local school as well as his well-meaning but overbearing parents. As the situation worsens, Vitus winds up moving in with his grandfather (Bruno Ganz), who is also a flying enthusiast. Vitus begins to realize his brilliance as he makes a huge sum of money from the stock market, which allows his grandfather to buy his own airplane as well as enabling his own family the opportunity to reunite. Meanwhile, Vitus goes about earning a place with the Zurich symphony orchestra. |
