Lewellen (Dakota Fanning) is an abused and troubled young girl who finds solace in music. She lives with Grammie (Piper Laurie), her grandmother, and often gets advice and life lessons from her friend Charles (Afemo Omilami). Charles also teaches and guides her into the world of blues music and this leaves her getting more and more interested in the music of Elvis Presley. Lewellen tells her best friend Buddy (Cody Hanford) that that The King of Rock 'n Roll is coming to town and this leaves both desperately longing for a ticket to watch the concert. |
