The Grodin family live off the map, literally. Never wanting to be a part of society, they make their home away from others and in a self-sufficient way. Bo (Valentina de Angelis), the couples young daughter has grown up without friends and makes her own world of make believe to combat her loneliness. Her mother Arlene (Joan Allen) does her best to keep things running because Charley (Sam Elliott) who has been plagued by depression has sunk so low that he can’t seem to snap out of it. Everything about the family is about to change when an IRS auditor (Jim True-Frost) visits the family to find out why the family does not file taxes. Not only will Mr. Gibbs find a new life but he will be able to help Charley get over his past demons.
