Bonneville is the story of three women: Arvilla (Jessica Lange), Margene (Kathy Bates), and Carol (Joan Allen) who must take a road trip out to Santa Barbara. They must do this to deliver the ashes of one of their recently deceased husbands to his malignant daughter who lives in the wealthy area of California. Along the way the women share stories and experiences from their lives and grow progressively closer together. Each has lived through joys and hardships which they can all relate to, and they enjoy each other’s company as they cruise the country in their vintage 1966 Bonneville, which each one secretly wants to possess as her own.
