Friday Night Lights is the story of a small-town Texas high school football team in pursuit of glory. The Permian Panthers are almost the only source of entertainment and pride for their town. This pressure, along with the additional challenges of high school academics and tennage social life, create a formidible environment for a team that is expected to consistently win. The story is told from the perspectives of several players and coaches and encompasses the emotional aspects of contributing to the school's legendary football program. The distinct difficulties of each position (both in school and on the team) are explored throught the film. For them, failure is not an option. |
