Jack Friar (Samuel L. Jackson) is a police officer who, as doing a friend a help and seeking for a fugitive youngster on Turk Street, trips upon a weird band of criminals about to succeed a bank break-in. Jack discovers himself being held hostage while the criminals fix on what to do with him, and the leader's stunning girlfriend Erin (Milla Jovovich) is left only to look at Jack. Erin, who is a great manipulator of the men in the mob, discloses a different side to Jack — a depressed romantic who could have been a conventional cellist. She discovers Jack's confinement a tempting turn-on and he cannot understand if she is for actual, or manipulating him, too. Before the gang comes back, Jack and Erin's relation deepens and now they need to face all those difficult situations they never thought before.
