Michael Lynch (Kevin Spacey) is a family man who lives with his children and two women, Christine (Linda Fiorentino) and her sister Lisa (Helen Baxendale), in Dublin, Ireland. Even if he is a friendly and charming man, he is above all a remarkable thief, a liar and a non stoppable crook who lead his band in the theft of a painting by Caravaggio. Very popular in Dublin, he constantly defies the authorities and began to be more concerned with his image than money. But his activities will become increasingly dangerous and the police will do everything possible to stop him or kill him.
