The Babysitters is a movie in which an enterprising high school student puts a slightly twisted spin on establishing a babysitting service. Instead of burping babies and putting toddlers to bed, she employs her classmates to have sex with a bunch of middle-aged fathers. It starts when Shirley (Katherine Waterston) has an unexpected sexual encounter with Mike (John Leguizamo) the father of the children she was babysitting. Mike rewards her monetarily, and Shirley is grateful of additional funds to help her on her way to college. She tells her high school friend Melissa (Lauren Birkell), while Mike spills the beans to his friend Jerry (Andy Comeau). At that point the benefits of social networking become apparent, with Shirley arranging “dates” for a growing number of high school girls and middle-aged men. She benefits by taking a 20% cut of all of the transactions, and begins to function like a true madam.
