Valedictorian Denis Cooverman (Paul Rust) has a long list of accomplishments that he has achieved throughout his high school career, but he has little in the way of real experiences. Never willing to take any chances socially, Denis has hardly had an exciting life up until this point. All of this changes, however, when he professes his love to Beth Cooper (Hayden Panettiere) during his valedictorian's speech. Much to his surprise, Beth accepts an invitation from Denis for a party at his house later that day. The party, however, takes a turn for the worst when Beth's boyfriend Kevin (Shawn Roberts) shows up at the party and tears the place apart in a fit of rage. In spite of the wreckage, Denis finds himself in the midst of one of the best nights of his life. Will his risk during his speech pay off in a big way?
