Dan Dark (Robert Downey, Jr.) is in the hospital with a severe case, of all things, psoriasis. He is suffering so badly that it leads to bouts of hallucination. A novelist by trade, Dark begins to rework his latest book. But during his hallucinating, he confuses reality with his book. The book is a detective novel and Dark believes himself to be the center of a police investigation of a prostitute’s murder. It seems that no medicine that is given to Dark is able to ease his pain or his hallucinations. What makes the entire thing even more unreal is that in Dark’s dreams, the nurses and doctors all sing. This is all causing Dark confusion and conflict. Will anything ever cure his psoriasis?
