In Lunacy, Alaska, mystery abounds. It has attracted a new police chief named Nate Burns (Eddie Cibrian) from far off Baltimore where he hopes to escape the professional stress of big city life. Almost immediately after arriving, Nate must deal with the discovery of a long missing resident, found in a glacier cave. It is the father of Meg Galligan (LeAnn Rimes) who is a well-known local pilot, and husband of Charlene Galligan (Rosanna Arquette). Meg is eager to have the case opened by Nate, especially after another friend of her father allegedly commits suicide. Nate’s nosing around upsets the Mayor Hopp (Jayne Eastwood) of Lunacy, but he does manage to have an affair with Meg.
