Todd Anderson (Josh Hamilton) is a customer service center manager in Seattle Wa. At the beginning of his journey his boss informs him that the call center in the United States is no longer a sound financial operation. The good news is that Todd will be heading up the new call center on the other side of the world. In a matter of days Todd's life is transformed. He is no longer in the Western world that he is familiar with but in India. The prospect of having to train foreigners how to operate a call center that caters to American knick knacks doesn't appeal to him at first. He is naive on his arrival. The customs in India are a shock to him, and he slowly adapts himself to their rituals and food. He is shocked by the lack of technology of the call center that was roughly set up prior to his arrival. His co-manager is a friendly man who is eager to learn from Todd. Together they are able to get the call center to the standard of his cold American boss. All this time he becomes involved romantically with a lovely Indian woman although a future between them is impossible due to traditional Indian pre-aranged marriage. This does not stop them however, and she helps intensify his love and appreciation for the joyous tradition and lifestyles of the Indian people. As soon as the call center is operating at a satisfactory rate, his boss comes to town and informs him that it will now be cheaper to outsource to China. He is concerned about letting down his employees only to find that the experience they gained is invaluable and that shutting down is not a hardship.... except for his friendly co-manager. Instead of packing his bags and heading to Beijing, Todd decides to recommend him for the job and restore his stature within his family and fiance. Todd returns to Seattle with a wordly perspective... but not his lover. Not until she calls....
