Gerald Gates (Bill Paxton) is the little brother of Truman Gates (Patrick Swayze) and Briar Gates (Liam Neeson). Truman and Briar do not speak because Truman left his hillbilly roots to become a city cop and marry his musician bride, Jesse Gates (Helen Hunt). Briar stayed at home and has been struggling ever since. Gerald decides to move to the city and gets a job as a delivery truck driver. One night, Gerald is killed protecting his delivery from members of the Isabella crime family, led by John Isabella (Andreas Katsulas) and a treacherous enforcer, Joey Rosselini (Adam Baldwin). After Gerald’s funeral Truman sets out to find and arrest the killers using the law. Briar comes to town looking to settle the score the old fashioned way. The two brothers have to put aside their differences to protect one another and find justice for Gerald.
