In a small Irish town where time stands still and a simple way of life is commended, a young farmer named Joe Evans (Mark Lester) works at raising and training horses. One day he comes in contact with a beautiful black horse that is more majestic and powerful than any he has ever seen. The horse and Evans eventually grow to love each other and both are devastated when they are pulled apart. As Joe gets older he begins to wonder about his horse and its life, so he sets out on a journey to reunite with the animal and continue the great friendship they had once shared. |
