Directed by John Ford and featuring an all-star cast, including C. Aubrey Smith, Cesar Romero, June Lang and Victor McLaglen, Wee Willie Winkie is a delightful adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling best-seller. When Priscilla Williams (Temple) travels with her mother (Lang) to northern India to stay with Priscilla's grandfather (Smith), she meets and befriends a group of soldiers and even a prisoner (Romero)! Winning the love and affection of everyone around her, including her curmudgeonly grandfather, Shirley also plays an important role in easing a local rebellion in what has been described as "one of Shirley's best" films.
